Erasmus Day Event: Taste of Erasmus

On Friday, October 16th, our school held an Erasmus Day event. The programme, prepared in English for younger students, offered a variety of activities and presentations. It all started with a general overview of studying abroad given by Ms. Vančáková, who coordinates the Erasmus+ programme at our school.

The event was led by Vítek Burket, who guided the audience through the programme. In addition to preparing a Kahoot quiz about the European Union, he also came up with a few questions to test their memory at the end of the event. Students who answered correctly had a chance to win some prizes.

The main part consisted of four presentations by students who had already participated in Erasmus+ projects. They shared their personal experiences and favourite memories from their stays abroad. However, they did not just talk about the bright sides of going abroad, they mentioned cultural differences and challenges they had faced too. They offered advice and tried to show to their younger peers how both short-term and long-term mobilities are organized.

Veronika Fritzlová spoke passionately about her long-term stay in Strasbourg, France. Vojtěch Holeček and Tereza Jirčíková took care of showing Nousiainen, Finland (also a long-term mobility). Alžběta Kánská, Ema Uhrová, and Lucie Blažková prepared a presentation about their one-week stay in Alūksne, Latvia. And finally, Vojta Klapal and Monika Nováková were in charge of a presentation about a week in Nousiainen, Finland.

I hope the students had fun and were inspired to take part in Erasmus themselves.
